5 tips to start (and stick to) blogging

This is not exactly my usual kind of post, as I'm mostly a crafty girl. But inspiration strikes us unexpectedly sometimes - the topic actually came to me while reading a magazine which featured an article on blogging. Mostly, the article associated blogging success with a large list of tools and techniques successful bloggers apparently use.

And that made me think. Now, I have nothing against tools and techniques, they are useful, even essential, no matter what you do. But I feel there has to be a bit more than that. Like everything in life, I firmly believe that if you want to start and stick to something, you need to love what you do.

(Almost) Wordless Wednesday - the wine cellars

Last weekend we took some friends to visit the José Maria da Fonseca wine cellars. José Maria da Fonseca is one of the oldest table wine companies in Portugal, it was founded in the 19th century and still belongs to the same family even after all these years (click here if you want to know more about it).

Other than the wine cellars itself, which are both interesting and relaxing and the same time, there's also a lovely farm house and a beautiful garden.

Tuna Breakfast Rolls

These tuna rolls are very quick and easy to make and are delicious as part of your breakfast, as a mid-morning snack or as a starter. Add a salad and you also have a healthy summer meal.

Here's the how to:

Ingredients (for four rolls)
  • four squares of puff pastry (mine are usually about 15x15 cm but size will depend on how big or how small you want the finished rolls to be)
  • 1 large onion
  • 2 cans of tuna
  • 1 red pepper
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1-2 tablespoons of olive oil

    Instructions:
    • Mince the onion and the red pepper and mix them together

    • Mix in the tuna and spread over each square of puff pastry

    • Sprinkle with olive oil, season with salt and pepper and fold over the puff pastry to create the rolls. Place them in a slightly greased oven tray and sprinkle a bit more olive oil on top

    • Bake for about 20 minutes until the puff pastry turns a nice golden color

    • Serve the rolls hot or cold, and enjoy!
